Who we are

EAM Expert grew from a simple premise: you cannot truly support a maintenance team unless you understand how one works.

Based in San Diego, California, our team brings nearly 30 years of experience helping organizations get the best from their Enterprise Asset Management software. Our work covers the full spectrum of EAM and CMMS consulting, with two areas at the heart of it. First, we keep legacy Mainsaver environments running smoothly for organizations that still depend on them. Second, we guide teams through a confident, reliable transition to eMaint, a modern, cloud-based platform built for daily floor operations.

Joe Petronio

Bringing a little magic to maintenance

Joe Petronio is the founder of EAM Expert. His career in maintenance didn't start at a keyboard; it started with his hands as an Auto Mechanic, a Precision CNC Machine Tool Mechanic, and eventually a licensed Aircraft Mechanic. He spent years working on equipment before he ever opened a CMMS or EAM system, so he understands what maintenance teams actually need from their software in a way that is hard to teach.

His first encounter with Mainsaver came when he was promoted from the maintenance floor to lead a CMMS evaluation for a large manufacturing facility in San Diego. The team evaluated the major players of the time and chose Mainsaver. Joe implemented it, ran it, and lived with it for years. That experience led directly to a role at Mainsaver itself, where he trained maintenance professionals across the country.

In 2002, Joe launched his independent consulting practice. Over the next 24 years, he supported nearly 100 organizations across manufacturing, pharma, power generation, and many other industries.

Long-time clients eventually nicknamed him The Magician: a nod to his habit of using hobbyist magic tricks to break up long training sessions and keep the room energized. He simply understands how to connect with people.
